V/A, The Big Lebowski [OST] (1998)

I already had the soundtrack CD – and love the film but this impulse-buy (expensive too) has been a happy purchase. Some great songs on this soundtrack and I’ve rediscovered a lot of great music as a result – I’d filed the CD long ago and never really gone back to it. But when I first heard that it helped me along with some great music too. Beefheart’s Her Eyes Were A Blue Million Miles was a way in for me – where Trout Mask Replica had, at that time, been too baffling. And Meredith Monk’s Walking Song is not something I ever thought I needed on vinyl. Turns out I do. I do.
