The Vinyl Countdown # 1473

V/A, More Songs From The Big Chill [OST] (1984)

The film was one of my favourites as a youngster because of the music. And I never went on to get the soundtrack – always wanted it. A few years on my folks picked it up (on CD) and it was a car-trip classic. I picked up both volumes on vinyl a few years ago and they’re great for in the DJ crate or as a great go-to compilation. As is the way with second-volumes this is not as good as the first but it’s got some classic songs on it – ones you might not otherwise collect on vinyl but are always worth having (When A Man Loves A Woman) and though I barely ever listen to this beginning to end I’d always take it with me as a crate-filler. And I’d never turn it off if someone else came to the house and selected it to play.

Sample Track: Too Many Fish In The Sea (The Marvelettes)

The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown
