Helmet, Seeing Eye Dog (2010)
I love the early Helmet records and I bought this as a souvenir. I enjoyed seeing Helmet recently and prior to that I really enjoyed speaking with Page Hamilton. Copies of the most recent album were available at the gig – on vinyl with a bonus live LP featuring some new versions of songs from the early albums. Good-good. And though the new album is in no way a classic – and I wouldn’t have sought it out if I hadn’t interviewed Page and/or attended the gig I am pleased to have it. This isn’t meant to sound so damning but it’s really not that bad. I quite like it.
