The Vinyl Countdown # 1438

Connan Mockasin, Forever Dolphin Love (2011)

So, first it was called Please Turn Me Into The Snat (2010) which I have on CD  – but I’d wanted to get the vinyl re-name/reissue. Then that sold out. Then that was re-released so now I have it; coloured vinyl. And a download code with bonus live tracks. Good score. I think Connan Mockasin is one of the most interesting, clever, talented Kiwi musicians – makes sense then that he’s found a life (and appreciation) further afield. I love this album – one of the best things I heard the year it was released, still sounds like one of the best albums in my collection now. Because it is.

Sample Track: Forever Dolphin Love

The Vinyl Countdown is a document of every LP I listen to, brand new discoveries and old-old favourites; extremely pre-loved, previously abandoned or with the shrink-wrap having just been removed it’s all here at The Vinyl Countdown

I too am still loving this; apologies for the cliché but I do believe this sounds like nothing else out there, either by a musician from NZ or further afield. I’ve got the original blue vinyl pressing, but I like the look of the purple just because it matches the Forever Dolphin Love colour scheme.

Please Turn Me Into the Snat, with the yellow/brown face cover, was still a fine presentation for the original/NZ release IMO.
