Los Lobos, The Neighborhood (1990)

If you are ever having that nagging feeling that Los Lobos is not the greatest band in the world – the best at what they do on any given day at any given time – I find it’s best to find one of their albums (no home should be without at least three or four by my count – or five, or six…) and put that record on immediately. Listen. Those guys are nailing it. They can play anything – and everything. They never ever overplay. They are always there inside each song. I had that nagging feeling the other day, that one I described just now. For minutes of my life I was worried that Los Lobos might not be the greatest band in the world. So I rushed on down to the local neighbourhood record store and picked up The Neighborhood. On vinyl. Fuck it’s good! And that nagging feeling slipped away again. Of course.
Sample Track: Angel Dance
