Keb Darge & Little Edith’s Legendary Wild Rockers 2
Southbound
Following on from 2011’s first volume this second collection of “rare rockabilly & surf from the 50s and early 60s” should get the party started, or keep the party going. Twenty-one garage gems unearthed by Keb Darge and Little Edith – and there’s a great flow to this, imagine it as something of a precursor to Lenny Kaye’s Nuggets set.
So from The Skee Brothers’ While I’m Away down to The Shandells’ Gorilla and on to Five O’Clock Hop by Dubb Pritchett and the Rock-A-Taires you’ll be hearing some old-old favourites from another world for the first time – or for the first time in a long while.
I’ve been playing this for a couple of months now; I find it hard to give it up.
