Live At The Roseland Ballroom, NYC
Shock
From Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Randy Bachman and Fred Turner reunite to plod through the hits. And 18 other songs too. Presumably the name Bachman-Turner Cruise Control was already patented by a Canadian greenie sure he’d come up with the ultimate petrol-saving way of gallivanting the north of North America. This live DVD is also available on Blu-Ray, where you would see every crag no doubt. It looks – and feels/sounds – like the roadies in a warm-up band. Of course Randy Bachman can play the guitar. Mechanically. Competently. But does that mean that anyone, in this day and age, needs to see or hear it? It’s hard to imagine an audience for this outside of those forced to wear covered shoes and overalls.
But I made it through this DVD. So you don’t have to. I heard Takin Care Of Business, track number 20. A sign that the end had arrived and that business had, apparently, been taken care of. Oh, so you haven’t seen this DVD? Well, then, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Bachman & Turner fans, both of ‘em, might scratch their heads over that one for a while.
